#39754 02/03/2002 2:54 AM | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 587 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 587 | SM 420 4spd was for 48 up to 67. It has the synchronizers in it, to aid shifting. You may have had early 4spd w/out synchros and have to double clutch up and down shifting, a pain! Maybe someone put in a later trans for this feature. Don't know what model it is in early trucks. Ask Tony, he has an early 3-ton, he may know what hes has in it. He's on the boards here, check for his name and click on profile to get email address.
