It was running fine, i drove it around and everthing but then it just died. Now i've been looking it over and i do have spark, in fact, when i pour gas into the carb it will run for a few seconds until that gas is burned up. So im assuming that its a fuel delivery problem. I opened the fuel line where it comes out of the pump and turned it over to find there was fuel coming out. however, when I cranked it with the fuel line open at the carb...nothing. Is it possible to have fuel coming out of the pump but not have the pressure to reach the carb? Also, could this just suddenly happen as it did? Maybe this seems like a pretty basic question but it's got me stumped. Thanks for your help in advance. | | |

Yes, if there's an obstruction in the line. Take the line off between the pump and the carb and see if you can blow through it. Do you have an inline fuel filter on it? If so, it may be clogged. | | |

Pull the dip stick and smell the oil. If it smells like gas change the pump and change the oil. While you are at it blow out or change the fuel lines and install a fuel filter at the tank to catch any debrie that may be in there. Good luck!

It may be something as simple as a blockage at the float needle in the carb(like silicone that someone used to seal a fuel sending unit in a truck I bought)  I couldn`t figure out where the chunks were coming from that kept stoping my 53 I had.I found the previous owner used blue silicone to seal the sender unit in the tank!  . It breaks down in fuel!
