For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 23 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 23 | In appreation I would like to hear some comments on installing filler strips in rubber around glass side, and rear windows. Is the tool absolutely a must when installing, and is temp. a factor. It seems so darn tight even using soap water. Are there any tricks. Many thanks....Sepp

It can be done...If I had to do it again I might buy the tool unless others say it didn't add much to the ease. I also don't have a 5 window. Just one rear window to deal with.
I had to tape the gasket to the window all the way around on both sides to keep it form flopping off.

We did it as follows, my brother stayed a few inches ahead of me applying pressure and keeping the lock strip straight while I worked it in, I have an after market rear slider wich made for a pretty tight install if it was flat glass it surely would have been easier. and took us abought an hr to put in all 3 back windows. Temp was around 70 degrees. Tim P.S. a little bit of WD40 sprayed in the locking strip track helps tremendously! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 23 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 23 | Thanks for your info...I'm sure it will help...Keep on trucken...Sepp

I really struggled with it, though, and I ordered the tool, which came just after I finished by using the paint can opener. | | |
