I had a call this morning from a man who says he has 2 NV-3500 5 spd's from a '94 S-10. He says they are the same as the T5. I have only did research on the T5 and don't have a clue what an NV-3500 is. Will this transmission bolt up the same as a T5? Is it as good a candidate for the swap into my '41 using the 235 I have? The price is good enough $100 for both. One works good and the other he says 2nd gear is bad. I don't won't to buy the wrong thing and get stuck. Thanks for your replies.

It looks very different than the T5. http://www.motivegear.com/tech_info/tranny_guide/tranny_guide.html Although, looking further down that page the NV3550 looks interesting. Looks like the shifter may be mounted too far back for it though. Also since it doesn't look like it was every used in the 2.8 chevy's it may not bolt up. Mongo

The NV's have an intergal clutch housing as mentioned,if you have the time ,tools and skill, the clutch housing can be machined away and an adapter made to work on the 235,maybe. At any rate, NV tranny replacement parts are expensive and they require some special tools for disassembly.Too bad, it's a far more robust trans than the T-5
