What's the best way to wrap a bundle of wires under the hood so they look neat? 53 chevy pickup

Scotch Super 88 electricians tape..or BLACK split wire loom..those are my 'druthers'.

Wires nicely and carefully wrapped with the electricians tape tend to look more factory than the loom. If you forget a wire or need to add one later, the loom fits the bill.

I'm a new guy here so I might be breaking new ground and paradigm. But there could be many answers to your question, depending on weatehr you're doing a authentic restoration, going for a ultra clean look or just tidying up.

But in general you can buy all sorts of solutions. I recommend McMaster Carr for some good stuff www.mcmaster.com/ they have almost all of those special bits and pieces to real nice job. Check the online catalougue page 788 for a start.

I use this vinyl wire wrap from Eastwood. It has no adhesive to get sticky and attract dust. Same stuff that comes on many factory wiring harnesses.

When I made up my harnesses, I used a product called Spiral Wrap, made by Micro Plastics Inc. It is a pliable wrap that fits a bundle from5/16" to 3" in diameter. I found that it was great to work with and made for very nice transitions in bundle size. I did the whole truck with it.

if you know you are done w/ your wiring you can use the shrink wrap tubing. most auto shops and suppliers, as well as some of the larger home wharehouse places carry it and it comes in all kinds of lengths and diam size for diif size bundles
