I have a question. I have a 65 GMC pick up. Do any of you know if the front end from a 79 Monte Carlo would work in a swap? If not what type of vehicles would be best suited. Maybe I should swap out with an early 70's truck??? You folks please offer any help you can. Thanks.

If you want to go to 5 bolt wheels change the spindles,(72 1/2t work I think) but there is no reason to change the entire front end.

It's mechanically sound. Good source for front end parts, 5 bolt wheels, disk brake conversion, etc, etc. Power steering too. And it's cheap. I know the guy who's selling it. ;-)
Great donor vehicle for a 60s Chevy upgrade.

I am in the process of installing a 1985 gmc frame under my 1960 chev apache shortbox.. so far everything is going well.. I have the Brake booster and tilt steering column installed in the cab I used many parts from the 85 that were almost a direct bolt in. the '85 brake pedal Assy was an easy install. I do have to shorten the frame but so far everything look slike its gonna go well.. pls email me for more info.. I do have access to a digi camera,.. if you are interested in the brake/column work. I would love to have some pics of your progress. I plan on changing alot of things to make the truck more modern. I will probably be the next 3-5 years. But I need to make my plan now. That way I don't change things 50 times. Where in Canada are you? And please send me all the pics you can.
P.S. I know where there is a early 60's frame at here in NS.
