Hello,

Can someone tell me if the bed steps (both short and long bed)on a step-side bed are identical from the years 1955 2nd to the end of their run in 1966? I was told they were.

They are not all the same. They came in 3 sizes, short bed, 89 inch long bed and 97 inch long bed. If you have the 97 inch bed (like I do) you can't get new reproduction, you would have to find a good used one.

Alan,

You forgot to include the 108 inch bed (one ton long box).

These are probably more rare than any other out there. I'm fortunate in that my '57 box and parts is in great shape.

Well, that just goes to show you, you never stop learning. I didn't know there was a 108 bed, but then 1 year ago I didn't know squat about these trucks & had just got my first one to restore.

Alan,

Do you have a good set of the 97' bed steps or know where I could find some??

I have found a possible source for some parts. Pickup bed trailers. I see lots of these in backyards filled with junk and stuff that never seems to get hauled. A possible source for some parts. Just $.0128 worth.
