The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Size Matters !!!!

Hi Folks .......

Regarding the front driveway dept, I am blessed with a bit of a short 'un.......old Land Rovers and MGB's have all been well serviced there, but the object of my latest desire, a 50's Advanced Design is a big old beast.

What are the measurements of a standard 3100, length is the critical one in inches ( old timer like me can't stand them millimetre things....always so darn many of them!)

Can the truck be de-bumpered (English-speak for front and rear fenders ?)...and how much space would this save ? When fixed up and the dreaded British MOT test acquired,metal work could be re-fitted as truck then permitted on our sacred and over-taxed highways.

I do not completely understand your ? ..but with the bumpers removed my 52 is abought 14 1/2 feet long .

How long is a 3100,without front and rear chromework ?
Is the lower plate between grill and front chromework detachable,
I don't know the correct term ( apron ? splashplate ? )

Would appreciate an exact length and width as just a very few inches will make the difference between a project and a dream.

I have been offered ground space by a Chevy owner, but 10 miles is to far really, especially as my incredibly long-suffering wife
has already put up with quite a lot with all my interests !
