Question is the bedsides, on the outside of the (lower)bedside I see 2 'dimples'(welds) between the bed post and the front of the fender. Are these welds from the inner bed supports? I think I remember asking I guy at a show once that had a restored original about this and I think he said it was how they were. This is a California truck and I believe it may have the original bedsides. Do most people fill these in?? The truck was restored about 4 years ago. The pictures I have are very clear and the truck looks very straight and clean. I'd attach a picture if I knew how. Any help would be appreciated.

The original angle strips on the inside of the bed are spot welded to the bedsides. There is a spot weld about every 6-inches the entire length of the bed. These welds often appear as a slight dimple from the exterior. When I replaced my bed boards and angle strips, I had to drill out the spot welds to remove the angle strips. Some folks choose to replace the angle strips and BOLT the stips to the bedsides. Most people must fill and smooth these out I guess. It is my understanding that the owner that did the restoration wanted it original in appearance and I believe it to be the original steel body.
