Mine on both doors is a two piece unit. I would have thought these would be 1 piece unit. When placed into their proper position there is a smell gap between them like they were cut at some point. There is another small trim piece that you are missing that covers the gap. It's only about 1/2" wide and is screwed in to the door to cover the gap.
If I remember right it goes from the top of the window trim all the way around and hooks under the edge of the window opening.
