Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 34 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 34 | Hi,
I just found a 1950 Chevy 1.5 ton with lift but no bed yesterday. The engine is supposed to run (if there was a battery), but the clutch is stuck together, and the brakes are shot. No clue if the lift works.
Is that something that is reasonably easy to fix?
I rebuilt a VW Beetle engine before (and it ran!) and completely rebuilt the brakes on a 1940 Dodge. Does it get much more complex than that?
Oh, and what do I buy my wife when the piece of rust gets delivered? Any ideas how to keep her calm without spending a fortune? :-)
Thanks,

If It has lots of rust I would leave it alone or not give much at all for it. If you plan on a full restoration start with the most rust free body you can scrounge the money for, rusty sheet metal gets expensive very fast.
Got any pictures?

My advice for the truck would be as Grigg stated as for the wife I have been single since 95 and haven’t had much luck finding a woman that I like that will stick around so you don't want my advice there | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | Buy her a matching 3100 series pickup. That way she will still be able to park inside while you are working on your new truck. Besides that, it will really put her mind at ease, because she will always know where she can find you. Really glad I could help you out. Please let us know how it all works out for you. John

That doesn,t alway's work. It seems they would rather have us hanging out in a bar or casino. Those trucks are pretty easy to work on but the rear brakes are pretty tough & brake parts are hard to find for them.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | |
