My 39 pickup has 3 wooden slats in each door for door skin backing. I recently asked Jim Carter Parts if they had some used ones as my 39 panel doesn't have any. He said he has never seen any.Mine look to be stock in that they don't look "homemade".Has anybody come across these on other trucks? Thanks

Sooner, I have NOT seen them in other trucks after 1936. I have a 37 and its "suppose" to be the first year with all metal. No wood in them. Sounds like your truck may be a "hybrid" of some sorts which most of them are after all these years. Say, have you got a picture of your truck you could post?? Or someone put them in there to "sturdy" it up some when doing body work. Picture is worth a thousand words.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Sooner i have to agree with Achipmunk after 361/2 year (low cab)there was no wood in the cabs the 36 high cabs i believe still had wood cowl supperts . i think you have doors that are older then the rest of the cab/truck . one of the experts ought to be along soon and help a little more.. Later Earl
