Reason i ask is I've seen some pictures which seem to suggest a 1974 suburban frame fits quite nicely under a 1959 suburban. Wondering if any one has any details/confirm denie or even a few dimensions to get me headed in the right direction

wheelbase of 74 C10s was 117.5"
outside body width of the TF panel/burb is about 76" .... I think you'll find the 74 chassis is too wide

They find out very quickly it's alot easier said then done. Some of the projects I've seen finished you can tell the truck is on a different frame cause it just doesn't sit right.
A few things to think about if your going to be using a newer frame.
Body mounts
Gas filler system
Shorten frame
Shorten Drive shaft.
Shorten Brake lines
Park brake cables will need to modified
Gas line shortened
Steering system
Rad support
That's just a few things I came up with. There's probably more. Wouldn't be a lot easier updating the original frame?

I was wondering if there was anything similar for the task forces, like I said, came across a suburban that supposedly has a 74 suburban frame under it, but guy I talked to, didn't know a whole lot about the truck (stupid car sales man.
