Is there a manifold for a 305 that exits between the firewall and first sparkplug rather than between the 1rst and 2nd plug? Steve | | |

I understand that on 1st series AD trucks, relocation of the steering box is necessary to obtain clearance for a V8 installation. Alternatively, the engine could be offset to the pass. side an inch or so............shouldn't hurt anything. Heck, most F O R D S are like that, with the engine off-center to make up for the drivers weight. (so I have been told by a F O R D aficionado) .

You would just have to run a longer exhaust pipe on that side. Wannabe P.S. Maybe you could check out the stock manifolds on a late model LT4 F-body (Camaro/Firebird). If memory serves, they kick way up, the tops are even with the tops of the valve covers.
