What are you looking for, gear sets or the complete axle assembly? If you want to replace the rear from your 50 there are several choices that will match the 62+- inches you need. I used an 80 Camaro posi. They bolt right up with new spring hangers.

All of the 3/4 and 1 ton diff set ups are pretty much interchangeable. I can't remember completely, but it seems like the 67-72 gears needed something out of the pumpkin to work in the older housings.

I was looking into doing a swap a while back, but then decided to leave it as-is because a) it was too much of a pain to do it and b) I kind of like being able to change the rotation of the Earth in first gear.

Careful.

Some of the trucks had Dana rear axles that are completely different from the Eaton axles

When you are differential shopping check first that you are looking at a compatible rear. The Eaton has a round rear cover and the differential section can be removed from the front, much like a Ford 9-inch. A Dana has an odd shapped rear cover and the differential has to be removed through that cover by disasembling it much like a 10-bolt and 12-bolt Chevy rear.

You'll see those Dana/Spicers under GMCs and Camper Specials for the most part, possibly on trucks set up as a tow truck. All the Chevies I've seen with the Dana/Spicer (usually a model 70) had leaf springs rather than the coils.

I would like to clarify where the 67 to 72 figures came from. There has been in the past, new gear sets available in 3.90 and 4.10 that were being made for these rearends. The only catch is that they only work in the pumpkins from 67 to 72 because of some internal differences. As an assembly however, all the front loading 3/4 and 1 Ton pumpkins from late 47 to 72 will bolt into the AD trucks. That is my understanding. So one of the routes that could be taken was to buy a 4.57 from a 67 to 72, install the new gears and that would work. I am not sure that the new 4.10 gears are not still available.

I put a 4:10 open eaton pumpkin out of a 72 camper special into my 66 c20 with a eaton, no problem. I believe the same would go into your 50 3600.
