Does any one know what year model and ton truck rear axles will interchange with the 3800 Series?

'47-'72 are essentially the same axle. Are you looking for a beeter gear using a new 3rd member, or are you in nead of an entire axle assembly? I'm not dure on widths or spring pad placements, but I would think pretty much any rear up to around an '87 would work without being to wide. An axle from a '73-'87 Duallie would be even better, as they are a bit narrower than the single wheel trucks. Be cautios with the '81-'87 3/4 tons, though, as some of them are the semi float 9 1/2" ring gear 14 bolt semi float. Not as strong as the 14 bolt 10 1/2" full floater found on 1 tons and heavy 3/4 tons. Some also come with Dana 70s, usually duallies or Camper Specials, and also tow trucks, but the tow truck version is even narrower than the regular duallie, so I'm not sue of fitment.

Measure the width carefully, some of those axles will be much wider than the stock rear. Also check the studds against the wheels you want to run. Some of the later axles have much larger studds than the earlier ones, and if you want to run your original wheels you could have problems as a result.

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
