I was wondering if I just bolt it up to the engine or do I grease it up a little. I have done this before and for the life or me, I can't remember putting anything on the starter gear, but it seems like something I should do. I guess I'm asking what everyone else does. Thanks. The drive clutch will usually wear out before the drive gear or ring gear shows any wear.

I have had experience with oil and /or grease on the flywheel and clutch. I would not get any oil or grease close to the flywheel. Life will be much easier without the oil or grease!! Joe
