Was down at my dad's today and he has a perfect front cap for a '54 or early '55 p/u. The hood has a 3600 on the sides and a Chevrolet emblem on the front. I believe this is a 3/4 ton front end?? Are they the same as the 1/2 ton??( I think they are) This front end has a chrome grille. No dents on the sheet metal or the grille. Is it worth $750.00?? Thanks in advance for the help.

I don't know what this "cap" includes so can't suggest value.
The front frame is the same as the 3100, while I understand the running gear is different. The 3600 rear is 11" more narrow than the 3100. Search the archives. You will find a ton of stuff on this topic.

The cab and front sheetmetal are the same from 1/2 ton to 1 ton but the boxes are different lengths. So yes, the 3600 front clip will fit your 3100 cab. As for the price, that's all up to you. I've bought complete running trucks for less but good, straight and chrome 54 grills command good money now days. In my opinion, if it's as nice as you say, it should be worth that,

Cap has both fenders, hood, both inner fenders w/ support struts, chrome grille, grille shell,front hood emblem, series emblems on both sides of the hood, rad support, headlight buckets, bumper filler, and fender supports. I guess all that is missing is the headlight trim rings and I believe these would have been chrome and one of the park light lenses is cracked(chrome trim around the lens). I,ve got a good frame with the correct bed(floor is bad). The 5 window cab I have is a custom cab with the turn signal column(good floors, bad cab corners, and a heater) I,m trying to get as many of the parts and pieces together before starting, but I would like to have as many of the few available factory options as I can get.
