I would like recomendations for manifolds and carb for a gmc 270 to be installed in my 41 1/2 ton with stardard drive line. I just got the engine, it has no manifolds or carb right now. Dave

I had a '39 with a GMC 270 engine, had the Howard 5 carb. manifold, really has a big WOW factor, also really wakes it up.

Clifford 4-barrel manifold with heat and a 390 cfm carb. The most economical option, easy to tune and maintain, with more go when you need it. It's uniqueness gives it sex appeal at the curb too.

If you are looking for more of a stock appearance than the 2bbl manifold from a 302 will work as well- the early ones fit the 3-bolt Stromberg/Holley pattern, and the later ones fit the 4-bolt GM Rochester 2GC pattern.

Good suggestions all fellas! Patrick's also has a 4bbl intake for '270 and '302 gmc engines and 390 carb is perfect! We have had great success with this combination and Fenton Headers! which also look beautiful with the Jet Hot coating! The gmc engines run really strong with the 4bbl altho the 5 carb looks more nostalgic.whichever way you go,I hope you have a cam to handle the extra carburetion? I would recommend around a 264 or an F290 grind for you. thanks, phillip
