If not Put the wheels straight ahead & loosen the lock nut on the adjustment screw on top of the box. Turn the adjustment screw down till the play is gone. Tighten the lock nut & turn the steering back & forth & check for binding. The adjustment screw may be frosen in the cover & you may have to put some penetrant on it & get creative. If the play is excessive & you really want to get it right you need to pull the gear & rebuild it. They are not hard to do on this model.

does this information only apply to the manual steering trucks? Is it different on the power steering equipped trucks?

-W Yes the power steering is different. They generally don,t need adjusting but sometimes you can tighten down the adjustment on top 1/4 turn or so. If you go to far it will give you a weird high spot feeling.
