Ok, so I'm welding in rockers, cab corners and floor supports into my 72 Chevy. My question is where do you start? Do you put the new floor supports in and then the new rockers? Some advice would be appreciated

We did the inner rocker panels and floor patch on my '65 last weekend.

http://laanderud.com/65chevy/112507/page_2.html

If it were up to me, here's how I do it:
1) With the doors on, adjust so that the top and side gaps are even.
2) Inner rocker panel (Keep checking with the outer to make sure the bottom door gap is even)
3) Floor floor support
4) Cab corners
5) Outer rocker panel

When done, flare out the drain holes in the inner rocker panel like we did (body hammer and round punch). Then POR-15 the whole area (beadblast or sand new panels first).

Your work looks good!! The picture of your inner rocker with all the rusted holes through it looks same as mine. My rust also runs up into the cab supports. I know I got a big job in front of me but I'll have fun doing it.

I can't take all the credit... the guy helping me (or am I paying to help him??) has a small restoration business and does 3-4 complete restorations a year and a bunch of small repairs. So rust like this wasn't even a concern for him.

It took him about a day to patch the rockers and floor. Just remember to double-check and test fit twice as often as you think necessary.
