After reading "watsjoe" thread on his 41 tie rod, it got me thinkin' about the tie rod on my 2-ton. I noticed the tie rod on mine isn't perfectly straight either, very suttle bends. It's really not that bad, again it's just not perfect. Is this the way it should be? If not, can I straighten it myself? If worse comes to worse and I have to get another one, are these monsters availble for purchase new?

Thanks,

Hy mummdogg, Sorry it took so long to get an answer, but I was trying to determine what part number the correct tie rod ends were, I just checked your question again an the penny dropped, your talking about the whole tie rod, not just the ends. So to answer your question, yes you can straighten it yourself, and no it doesn't have to be perfect, but once you have it "straightened" the way you like it, reset your toe in to the correct specification, hope that helps.
