| | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 20 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 20 | last night i was pulling the engine out of my 52 gmc one ton dually. with the engine bolted to the transmission, i was having problems getting it out of the front end.I did have an engine hoist. the crossmember where the transmission is bolted to was right in the way. I had to cut it out to get the engine out...I know...I should have removed the cab...but what did i do wrong. how do you guys get the darn thing out without a torch. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . If it is of any use, I have that crossmember for sale, removed by removing the rivets (no torch). I believe it is the same, mine from a 48 Chevy 2 ton?
