Has anyone done this? Further, I'm thinking buy a parts Dakota and use steering, rearend, seats..... Has anyone looked at these and will these other parts work?

But I'd look at the entire Dakota frame. It might make sense to move the body to that frame. Those trucks are common and I beleive have a standard ladder frame. It would be a lot of work, like moving an AD to an S-10, but worth looking at if you're thinking about changing the suspension.

If that is the case, then S10 would be the way to go but I don't want to do a full chassis swap. Anybody else? Looking for M-II alternatives.

I know a guy who put put Dakota under is AD instead of MII..he swore by it. Somewhere on here is a post about Dakota IFS too. I know someone on here has done it...I can't remember who.
On a personal note, we have had so many brake issues with our fleet Dakotas. I am not a fan. Someone on here posted to the contrary on the brakes tho too.

THIS WEEK, I'm thinking to make it a fun long distance, highway speed, fun to drive for hours, cruiser. This is so when I retire in a couple of years the wife and I can run around the country. I want a stock look with the modern stop and go stuff. I mentioned this to the finance department last night and got a luke warm reception (not a cold on). She is such a sweetie!

#33739 03/25/2005 5:38 PM | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 17 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 17 | the dodge boys admit in their technical bulletins there is a brake and bushing issue with their dakota IFS. there is also a nose dive issue in the dakota with VERY hard braking. no good fixes recommended other than fine tuning alignment, from what i have read.
industrial chassis notes better experience with their kits - perhaps a little different geometry - i dont know.
