I looked at the engine and saw the fan was turning at an odd angle.I shut her down and realized my new rebuilt waterpump(1000 miles max) was wobbling at the pully.
So I removed the pump and took a good look and noticed the "can "
where you bolt the fan to was loose.
Lucky for me the rad didn't get punched. The place where I got the pump from will replace it.

I don't think any external problem caused your failure. Sometimes bad bearings make it through QC or a out of spec core makes it through the rebuilding process. This would be the classic case of "$$hit happens". You indicate the retail outlet will warranty it, so good on them!
