Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 140 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 140 | I pulled a small block from a 1971 Gmc a few years ago and I was wondering what the specs are. Here is the numcers I found on the motor. 38 GM 3970010 This may not be the original motor that came in the gmc. I plan on rebuilding this motor to put in my 1948 Chevy 3600 wrecker. Thanks for any help

If you have a correct year motor out of a 71 GMC, I've never seen anything but a 4bolt in a 69-72 truck. They are 350 c.i., 250 horsepower, 8.5:1 comp., 4bc. I could tell you if it was a correct year motor with the letters and numbers off of the front pad, or by the date code off the back of the motor. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 140 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 140 | I'll get you those numbers this evening.
