I have a '59 Apache panel. I had a bad bottom door hinge on the passenger side. In taking it apart, I removed the door and both upper and lower hinges. This was partially for clean-up and primer while I had it apart. The upper hinge had a bolt in the back (foreward most)part of the hinge. When I removed the bolt, there was a square nut on the backside that fell down on to the floor. My problem is that I can't get the nut back up there to put the bolt back in. I can't get to it from the bottom where it fell out and I can't get to it from under the hood. My arm is too big to reach back there. Do I have to remove the fender in order to get to the back side of the bolt? I think I must be missing something? Thanks....

That might work. I'm still scratching my head on it. Thanks.

red58 - thanks for your reply. I had kind of resigned myself to taking the fender off. I was hoping I wouldn't have too, but that's what it looks like. I think I will tack weld the square nut on the back once I can get to it. I think it probably needs the nut and bolt in there because it supports the hinge/door. I guess if I take the fender off, I can really clean it up and paint both sides of it.

yes, and you'll be able to clean and finish the plenum chamber under there and the back off those hinge pockets, which take a lot a guff at the back of the fender ... that area is always messy on the TF trucks
