For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 51 Member | | Member Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 51 | i am pretty new to these trucks and the drivers door hinge is sprung. the door has a little bondo in her to. On futher examination their does not appear to be a hole that the bondo filled , but a dent from the door being sprung. Theres about a 1/2 " in some places otherwise it is in awesome shape. So am i better finding new hinges somewhere new? Where? or try to find em with a door? which i know of a great door for $300can. no hinges. Thanks Tony

If thats the case, I think you've got a door problem and not a hinge problem.
The hinges consist of the pillar mount, the arm, the pin and the spring. The springs and pins can be replaced, the arm can be bent back into shape and cracks in the arm or pillar mount can be welded. Sometimes the hole for the pin wears and it needs to be drilled out and replaced with a larger pin- You can get those at any of the vendors or even NAPA.
Adjusting the hinges is a pain but doable.
I decided it would be easier to get a used hinge and found one for $20.

The hinges are shot for sure, what part i have not diagnosed. The top one is sprung so i figured completely replace them both. The door rubs hard at the top right, and the top seam won't go past the gutter rail even with a little force.
So all in all, i am looking for a pair of drivers door hinges for sale.
