As usual any advice is always appreciated

Sorry i forgot to mention it's a 59 door. Actually its the bottom on the inside not tne skin. I'll try to get a picture posted. Not too hard. Just don't try to do inside and outside at the same time. Measure and mark from up on the door before you cut anything. I used the partial panels from Chevy Duty. These are not for the faint of heart. I'd pony up for the larger panels if I had to do it again. Be sure to open up the drain holes or it will rust out again. All you need is a mig welder and reckless confidence. Works for me. Good Luck :p
They named it Apache cause it has a patchy welded here and a patchy welded there.

what year of truck do you have? I am in the process of doing the bottoms on my 51 and I have completed the major work on the passenger's door.
I bought the inner and outer bottoms for both doors and the outer skin portion is well formed and actually heavier then the original skin. What was a surprise was that the panels were too long and I had to modify them. I did the inside first, grinding the edge of the skin of the lower portion to separate it. Before I started cutting, I tack welded two small vertical channel pieces to the inside to preserve the exact location of the bottom door lip. This was very helpful in fitting the replacement properly. Also I had small sheet metal clamps that help the seam in place while I tacked it together.
Good luck with your doors. I am really pleased with the results.
