I would like to put a radio in my 56 3200 p/u. It would be great if it looks stock but would be mp3 or ipod ready. Any contacts?

A stock radio can be outfitted with line-level inputs, which would accommodate an MP3 Player or ipod... that's the way to go if you want the "stock" look... I know there are repro radios made but I don't know if they have any special inputs.

You can also try Custom Autosound. They make most of the new radios that the vendors sell. Pretty much the same unit with different face combinations to fit the different vehicles. They come with audio cables that plug into the back and a headphone jack you can stretch over to the glovebox to use an ipod, mp3, etc...

I bought a radio from Classic industries (I believe) that fit in the stock opening of my 57 3100. It looks fairly stock until you turn it on. Then it has a green glow. The input cable is a jack similar to your I-pod head phones. I drilled a small hole in the side of the glove box and fed the cable through there. I plug in my I-pod and I have everything from Hank Williams to Aerosmith at my fingertips. I did not want a CD changer but it has inputs for that as well. This way I don't lose any space in my cab or glove box!!

Good Luck & Best Regards,

Panhead
