People often want to cut their own bed wood for various reasons and reliable dimensions are critical. All information and help here is appreciated, especially when the information comes from personal experience. Each board was about, I would say, 1/8 of an inch to wide when I fit it all in the bed because I ended up shaving an 1/8 of an inch off one side of each board. Then redrilling about half of the holes in the rear sill. The boards are tight against the bolts on either side still. That's my first time experience. If I did it again, I would fit all the boards before I cut the grooves. If you do cut yours smaller and then it is too small, please don't blame me. Best of luck.

It appears these dimensions given may not be correct and should be modified before just cutting the boards. Your suggestion of test fitting all boards before cutting the grooves would eliminate a lot of extra work to fix problems after the fact. We cut bedwood according to this drawing, http://www.mar-k.com/bedwood_dimensions.pdf and have sold thousands of sets of bedwood. It requires that you actually measure the spacing of bed strips and cut the wood to fit. I recommend anyone cutting their own wood to make these basic measurements and develop their own wood dimensions for their own truck. Even then, some scrap pieces should be cut to the width dimension to test the fit in the truck. The width hard to get correct but it is critical.
