Hi Guys. I'm looking for some help with motor ID for GMC trucks. Everything i've researched only has listings for chevy trucks. I would like to know if the motor that came out of my 39gmc is actually a 39 before I post it in the swap meet section. The truck seemed very original, but after 60 plus years ... you never know. Thanks for your help..... Dale

Hi there, I tried to do a little research to help you out, but the only thing i can come up with right now is to copy down the engines ID number, then put that number in the search on google.com, or yahoo.com and see what you can find out. Or, give me the engine ID and I will search for some info on it. Thats all I can do to help for now, sorry! Good luck!

Inliners.org has a section on casting numbers, at the top of the page a link to GMC numbers, but it starts with 1939.

You might want to check with Rob English's website at www.oldgmctrucks.com for info on GMCs. He is very helpful!
