Truck is stock with the original tires still mounted? Now that's original but not too safe.
When I see all of the resto's going on, they sub-frame the trucks with various donors.
Is there a reason why that don't just use a different donor chassis such as a newer Chevy truck with similar dimensions? Is there a full frame truck or ? that will work?
Thanks for the help friends.

Do a Stovebolt forum/google search and you should come up with some interesting results. Here's a link that somebody posted recently: Intended as an example of a chassis swap... Now I haven't performed this swap, but I have heard that the S10 frame has a mid-section weld that may be ground out allowing the rear section of the frame to slide in or out of the forward section so that one may adjust the wheelbase.

You're fortunate to have lots of resources in the KC area. Also, one of our members in your region is doing this sort of swap, but he is focused on a new first baby in the house right now. Common opinion is that no matter what you swap it with, it'll still drive like a truck, guaranteed!
A simple switchover from single to dual brake master cylinder resolves any safety problems.

Then of course theres my new shop help who's not coming up to speed as quick as I'd like LOL.. Although he already likes daddy's truck. MONGO
