You didn't mention why you wanted to do the swap - any swap is a huge amount of work, and primarily switch to 4WD or extreme lowering are two reasons.
Common opinion is that no matter what you swap it with, it'll still drive like a truck, guaranteed!
A simple switchover from single to dual brake master cylinder resolves any safety problems.
