No thanks necessary to me..it's these other guys who actually have torque tube driveline experience to thank. Besides, encouragement is about 1/2 the battle, in my books. Now go have a nice hot shower and relax, knowing your old fella is fixed up. Regards, Wannabe

The tranny fill plug should fill the entire tranny, output shaft, speedo gear, etc. Now if you're using an open driveline tranny with a closed driveshaft adapter, I don't know how oil is supposed to get to the closed u-joint.
Did the ujoint break where it slides onto the torque tube shaft? Weird.
This time, did you loc-tite the bolts in, and bend the keepers over the bolt heads? Feel any vibration before she cut loose this time?
good luck chip

I will be checking the bolt thru out the night for any response,,,,thanks,...Fred Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | |

If you hear any noises, you'll have to slide the Ujoint bell back and make sure the ujoint assy is still OK. If the Ujoint is OK, look forward at the tranny, or behind the ujoint at the T-tube or rear axle.
I've grenaded a few ujoints in my '54, but every time it was the 4 bolts that hold the ujoint together. Its weird that your ujoint would experience breakage failure at the splined part. If it happens again, you'll have to delve deeper to find the root cause.
Your problems could either be improper installation of the replacement parts, or a more serious problem we haven't thought of yet.
good luck
