I'm thinking of going this route on my 52 3100 1/2 ton but haven't been able to find a manufacturer online that lists the ID and OD of their bushings - they all seem to do it by vehicle type/year only. If I could find a bushing with a 7/8" OD and a bolt hole in the middle I'm pretty sure I could get it to work.
It seems like a modern bushing setup would give a slightly softer ride, less maintenance, and allow the shackle to be attached at both ends instead of only by the bolt in the middle. Thoughts?

I searched catalogs ond web sites like "energy suspensions", but had no luck finding urethane replacements. They don't like to tell you the dimensions of their products
So I bought some Delrin rod. Delrin is a plastic like hard teflon. After a couple of hours of work on my brother's lathe I had a new set of bushings. The truck has not been on the road since the modification so I can't tell how well they are wearing, but this is tough stuff.
In the rear, I am using springs from a Blazer, so I am using urethane bushings from "Energy Suspensions"

I've noticed that too. I've been doing a lot of internet searches and I *think* early jeep springs (CJ2A?) may have 7/8" inch eyes like our trucks. I'm not too concerned about spring width as I could always cut them down to fit. I'll post what I find.
