#29581 03/20/2002 9:04 AM | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 9 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 9 | howdy there partners i have finaly recieved the head gasket set now do i put a gasket glue on her or leave it clean thats for the head gasket and use sealer for everything else/ im talking 235 engine ex 1955 belair for my 46 pickup ive cleaned every thing up shes ready to roll also is it a idea to plug up the overflows from the rear brake drums so the oil doesnt contaminate the pads coming out of the diff?

Usually instructions in the box that will tell you. If you got the copper headgasket, spray it with copper headgasket spray. If it's cardboard and colored blue, no dope is needed. Usually if it's cardboard and untreated, spray it with copper headgasket dope. Notice I said usually, that's why there should be instructions. If no instructions, call or go back to where you bought it and ask.

I/ WE im sure, dont quite understand about[ over flows]and rear axel. NO LEAKING OF, BRAKE FLUID, OR GEAR OIL should be happening at all. you need to look at axel seals, and brake cylinders :confused: | | |
