Maybe this is the same for the pre-'54 trucks. I need this info because I am trying to run my dual exhaust but I don't have my rear bumper yet. I don't want to have clearance problems and I don't want to run the tailpipes any lower than I have to. Thanks in advance. | | |

They clear the bottom of the bumper by about half an inch. Not sure if 54-55 are the same bumper brackets.
I agree with Tony that the bumper on first would be a good idea. You could stop at the mufflers until the bumper is on before adding the tail pipes and adjusting the hangers. - Pete
