i guess ill start with me.

purchased my 50 3100 in 1999, restoration began in 2002.

It's nice to see another young person out there working on a classic vehicle... unfortunately I have not met many, nor do there seem to be many. But hey, that just makes us that more special

My dad did a cosmetic resto about 6 years ago.
He passed away last year and I now have the truck for the rest of the family. I'll have some pics on my web site in a week.

hi murdoc, i is 57,retired fireman, bought my 40'half tonne on a huntin trip in S Dakota in 97'. It'll be ON THE ROAD in Dec. Wish I'd have discovered this hobby as a young man. And howdy to Jeff c up in Saskatchewan ! Got lots of huntin pals up there.

I'm 42 years old.
I'm a pharmacist and own a pharmacy in the town where I grew up. The pharmacy has been in our family since 1924.
I've got a 1946 Chevrolet half-ton, stock, with a newer paint job.
BTW, I'd like to say that this is a great website and I come here as often as work, wife & four kids leave time for!

3. I had a 1962 GMC suburban back in the early 80s, junked it out. I now have a 1965 GMC one ton I picked up in Oregon about two years ago, and a 1960 Chevrolet Viking L60 LCF I picked up last spring. I', the guys doing the 6066 GMC Trucks & Old COE trucks sites, been doing the truckin' thing for as long as I have been driving, my first car was a 1947 Chevy picpuk, got lifted when in storage after a move, we showed up witha trailer to haul it to the ranch and it was gone, so we picked up my 2nd car and hauled that home, it was a 1957 Cadillac fleetwood, still got it resting up to the ranch.......anyway to make a short story long......

I'm 23, a musician, (which means I have to work as a line cook for a for rent and parts), and I've had my 59 fleetside 3200 for ummmm...about three years. I bought it in Georgia, drove it to VT, and took it apart. Still trying to get it back together!

I guess I've owned this old truck all my life. I grew up on a beef ranch in SD and none of the cowboys in my family wanted anything to do with this 'pile of scrap iron'. I've only been working on it for about a year and hope to drive it in a few months.

My Grandfather bought my '63 Stepside new for $1300. Before he died he in 1983 he gave it to my father. After my father died in 1999 it sat in my mom's yard for 2 years rotting away. I bought it from her in the fall of 2001 and it is now getting a heart transplant. The tired old 283 had 340k miles on it..and they say american cars dont last! Im putting in a GM 350 crate motor with a TPI intake from a 1989 Trans Am, but for all you old school guys i am keeping the 3 on the tree...I cant wait to get it going again!

3. When I was a full-time engineering student at Boise State I had two '41 Chevy pickups. I dropped out of college and sold those trucks in 1975, but have had many since.

'55 GMC 1st Series Suburban (daily driver) about 18 months.
'72 Chevy 1/2-ton (rust bucket) five years.

I wanted an old truck since I was a kid. In 1992 I bought a 'project' 1951 GMC 3/4 5-window in Idaho for $100. It remained stashed in various places while I served on subs in Pearl Harbor. After I got paroled from the Navy, I went to work at Los Alamos as a building maintenance planner. I took the truck apart, then went back to school and hauled the parts from rental to rental. The truck kept disappearing until all that remains are the cab and front clip. Last year I found a 1949 Chevy 1-ton panel truck and another (more complete) 51 GMC 1/2 ton.
