Can someone tell me the GM part # for a 1960 hydraulic lifter for a 235?
Is the part # the same for the 54-58 and the 59-62 Hydraulic lifter for the 235?
Are the hydraulic lifters for the 235 and the 261
identical?

This new guy sure got a lotta answers.

Rusty, I bought hydraulic lifters for my '53 235 before I knew I was switching to a '61 261. The US truck 261's came with solid lifters even though they were drilled for hydraulics (check your block) The Canadian Pontiac 261's had hydraulics. It's my understanding that my 235 lifters would fit my 261. What gives me concern is NAPA had two different part #'s for the 235 and 261 hydraulics. I'll think I'll do an exchange.

Have you folks priced solid lifters for the 235 lately! Parts America was $22 ea. and NAPA was $20 each with Clifford cams coming in at $130/set. Needless to say, I was shocked and ended up buying from Patricks for $70/set of 12.

Thanks for your help. I have a 60 261 short block and a 55 848 head. I have really appreciated the thread started by Stingray regarding block and head oiling. Thank you Chip for being so persistent with your questions. I also need the rocker arm oiler/connector if you find two.
Thank you Tony and Olblue for your in debth research regarding 235 261 engine oiling and interchangeability. I hope the meat of that thread is preserved for others to come.
Now I'm dealing with the hydralic lifters. I've also found 2 part #'s for the hydralic lifters.
How about it Tony? Olblue? Somebody must have some part #'s for these lifters to determine interchangeability/application. Help please.
