I am about to get the old girl on the road. I have replaced over 150 parts. After stripping the paint she was painted a traditional green. I've added oak side rails and am pleased with them. The interior has the new original champagne color paint. New floor boards, seat cover, rebuilt instruments, new headboards, door panels, glove box insert and glass. Including new weatherstripping and windlace all around. Mirrors inside and out are new. New hub caps, tires and emblems. New chrome on headlights, park lights and tail lights. New wiring harness. Fuel tank sealed and fuel lines replaced with new glass bowl fuel pump and filter. Replaced the tired old 216 with a rebuilt 1954 235 truck engine. New exhaust. Rebuilt carb.New hoses and belts and oil lines. Engine has been painted gray with the appropriate decals on filters and valve covers. I have aquired a new transmission and rear end but will tackle that later. I just want to drive her again. I lack around 2 hours work before I can though. The last problem I have to beat is the accelorator rod. I need to manufacture one but isnt a big problem. Since I cant post photos, I hope this describes My New Old 53.

Actually believe it or not the color is called "British Racing Car Green" I didnt want to get the dark forester green because I was afraid it would be too dark and I wasnt able to actually look at the juniper green so I settled with the British Green.

You see, I have tried to post my pictures on the board several times. I have uploaded them onto several websites like Webshots.com and that type. The problem is when I try to put them on the Stovebolt, all I get is a little box with an x in it. I must not be holding my mouth right. Maybe if I find some fourth grader he could show me how.

New Old 53, You don't have to post the pictures here on the page. Try posting the address to your Webshots page. One click and everyone can access the pictures..

Or, if you would like, E mail me a few of your pictures. I'll put them up for you...

Nope, The 54 hood emblems for the front was alot diiferent. The side emblems were the same. These new ones are identicle to the ones I pried off the truck while prepping it for paint.

Only 150 new parts? Wow, very nice truck. I was also tripping on the sunshine under the bed. smile

BTW, had I gotten to the bottom of this thread and still no pictures I would have asked for your permanent removal of stovebolt, geez. :p

NewOld53,
that is some nice truck. I would be pretty anxious to drive it too.

When you want to post webshots, the simple way is to copy the Webshots address right in the middle of your posting, using edit copy and paste. The only snaffoo that you have to watch for with Webshots is not to post the address from which you personally edit from. That will cause a reject message to appear when others try to see them.

Next time you want to post a shot, try right-clicking on the pic ... select "open in new page (browser)" ... then copy the page address and use that as the link, here, in the IMAGE selector.
