anyone know where i can get new oil lines for my 235? I need the one that goes from the upper passenger side of the engine over to the junction on the oil filter can. Also looking for a new oil pressure guage line, but I think I found that at american classic.

Mine are enroute from The Filling Station. FedEX says they are somewhere between my door and Portland Oregon. On arrival, they will be installed on a Fram. I will let you know if they work...if you are willing to wait. Being installed on a 46 216.

Most any of the vendors should have the lines and the gauge. You can also try locally for the lines, but you need to take them in to the parts store to see if they have anything that will work. Another source is to get some made at a hydraulic hose shop. Usually if one needs replaced I change them both.

Might check with a diesel truck supply store. I believe my oil lines are for the oil feed to a turbocharger,,, now what did I do with that turbocharger for my 235

Actually, I found the oil pressure guage line. What I'm looking for now is the rocker arm oil line that leaves the filter can and enters the head on the passenger side.

passenger side - look for the line right in the middle on the side of the head

driver side - the line leaves the oil filter can at that junction on the right

15 and an 18 version available from The Filling Station.

I must be missing them. I can't seem to find it on the filling station's website.

Chevy Duty has them. Just bought a pair and installed them. They had special fittings on each end that made the process a snap! Made a big change in my oil pressure. droipped it from a constatnt 55 to 25 at idle and 50 when reved up. Good luck!!

I could not find anyone who could make em for me. No one even understood what a remote filter was anymore...unless it ran on diesel and could dig a hole in your back yard....

Thanks 46, but those lines aren't the one I need replaced. I have done a very poor job outlining in red the one I need in the attached pic.

Any guesses where I can find one? I was considering using copper as a last resort.

That is a later model 235 (1954-1962). The oil filter lines might be OK where you have them, but that line on the passenger side goes into a hole that is usually plugged.

Lines are available from Chevy Duty, Patrick's, and Jim Carter and I find the 18" line is too taught when installed on a 1955 AC remote canister filter (but it works). I would prefer a 20-24" line. This forum's sponsor also sells lines:

I would also like to point out that your newer-style valve cover has "breathing" holes/slots in it. Some people have never seen these - no need for a "breather" oil filler cap with these covers - but a "breather" cap causes no harm and looks nicer.

I have the rubber lines from my oil filter canister hooked up to the holes specified in your picture.

If I plug that hole on the passenger side, what will oil my rocker arms? I thought that the later 235's didn't have an internal oil line for the rocker arms.

All 235's have internal passages for the rocker arm oil unless it got plugged up with crud. The plug on the head is just for cleanout or bypass.
