Another thing - I don't know the year of this 235; it's not original, but did they ever come with Carter W-3's? If I want to swap it, what should I replace it with?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Just don't over rev the engine. I replaced my Carter with a 2bbl. Holley/Weber mounted on an adapter. Has been working fine for 6300 miles now. | | |

You can change the studs or make a spacer that the same thickness as the governor, you may find one that works.You can find the year your motor was built on Inliners International.Dave H | | |

Are spacers in place of the governor a part that is sold, or do you have to make one? Also what number on the block do I look for to determine the year of the engine? The serial no. is FEA 42033 and doesn't correspond to any numbers on the Inliners page.
