Can you swap the 5.14 rear end pumpkin on a '51 1-ton with a 4.10 from a '67-'72 3/4T?

Wally:
If the 1 ton rear on your 48 is the same as a 3/4 ton rear you can purchase a 3.90:1 ring and pinion from Randy's Rear Ends. That would most definitely give you more interstateability.

Thanks. The fellow at NAPA who turned my rear drums said he had a '51 3/4T with a "5.10" rear end. It's either a 3/4T with a 4.57 or a 1T with a 5.14. Either way the swap would work and would be the cheaper way to get some more speed. Thanks, again.
