#25650 12/09/2002 3:33 PM | Joined: May 2002 Posts: 14 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: May 2002 Posts: 14 | My 49 1/2-ton had a problem of popping out of 2nd every so often when the load was off. Suspected a synchro ring problem. At about the same time I had a problem with the clutch plate.
Took it in to have the clutch plate, springs, etc. replaced and while there had them pull the tranny. It was shopped out to look at the 2nd gear problem.
All back together, but the tranny guy could never get the parts (or so he said) and it went back in unfixed. Now I am having problems shifting from 1st to 2nd. I have to double-clutch to get it into 2nd. (Let up clutch while in neutral and then press again).
Sound like the guy finished off my synchro? Could it be the link adjustment? Any relation to the replaced clutch?
Poorer and frustrated... I think I went backwards on this deal. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it is a 4 speed but I am not sure it could be a 3 speed I know it is stock 1/2 ton 53. It is the torque tube so it will bolt right in. I will even through in the fly wheel and clutch if you like! How does $50 plus shipping sound? It worked great but I upgraded to a Muncie sm-465 since I changed out the rear end and went with a open drive shaft. Let me know [email protected] is my adress and I live in Zip 68504

BTW - my truck is back once again at the shop since the rear main seal they put in leaked! As they say... shoulda done it myself to begin with.

I have a 4speed in a 52 five window, 235 with patricks 3:55, works ok but I run about 3,000 rpm at 60, this conversion kit from patricks, bot transmission and ring/pinion is suspose to equal a muncie and good for up to
300 hp motor, unknown is that is true, Thanks for
