I will be making a quick trip to Seattle in June and was wondering where you guys in that area buy restoration and Hot Rod parts for your trucks. On my last trip, I stopped in at RB's but see they have moved south.

Seriously, there's only Pickups Northwest (in Everett, just north of Seattle) and NAPA. Vintage Auto Parts crushed their stock and left town, and nobody has even tried to fill that gap. If you're looking for gennie OEM bits, the nearest boneyard is now Olympia. Even "professional" resto shops like Dreamer's Rods are getting their overpriced Chinese chrome through vendors like PUNW.

I look for gnuine old iron (usually rusty), or I buy mail order, or more accurately, I order online and get a UPS package, so I guess 'mail' isn't too accurate anymore...

I gave up on RB, they never had in stock what I needed and prices not too good anyway. Pick-up NW is not very price competitive. I go a little further if I want to pick something up. Chev's of the 40's down near Portland carries pretty good stock and has fair prices. Filling Station down in Oregon also not bad. Mostly, I shop on line. Cost of shipping is offset by our 8-9% sales tax. Curious what the boneyard in Olympia is?

I'm from the Seattle area (Snohomish)and have tried Pickups Northwest with mixed results, prices so-so. I have been told of a bone yard in Vancouver WA (along I-5 almost at the Oregon boarder) that has many old cars and trucks. Sorry, I do not know the name. Other than that not too much out here. May get lucky in the "Little Nickel" for sale paper. I have found some excellent original parts for my '58 apache ther. Good luck!

Old Hwy Truck Supply is out of Olympia (55-80) (360) 786-1501... www.oldhwytrucksupply.com... Pick-ups Northwest is (360) 568-9166... www.pickupsnw.com.... Local salvage in the area is Walt and Verns in Bonney Lake..... Best sources for the price I've found are LMC Truck outa Lenexa KS (www.LMCTruck.com) and Truck Shop (www.truckandcarshop.com).... There is a guy in the area that I have been meaning to visit called Buffalo Enterprises that modifies old chev parts but no motor stuff. He does custom machining for brakes and suspension modifications like flipped, shortened axles and redrilling for late model tie rod ends.
