As long as everything is from 1/2 ton.
Or,,3/4 ton to 3/4 ton,,1 ton to 1 ton.

I was told by the guys at Brother's that the pickup running boards wouldn't fit but thought you guys here would know for sure. I have a 3100 and i'm not sure if it's a 1/2 or 3/4 ton.. any help there? and i'll keep my eyes open for something for you..

Jim Carter sells the little plugs that cover the holes in the running boards that are not used on a panel body truck (these are the small holes on the forward top edge of each running board that are used for attaching the running-board to pick-up-bed apron).
All 3100s are 1/2 ton (all 47-55 1/2 ton trucks are the same "short-bed" length).

Thanks for the info.. So what i'm reading is truck running boards will fit even though the guys at the Brother's truck store told me they wouldn't. It would make sence that Chevy would make all that stuff interchange.. Thanks again. I've seen Jim Carter's name in some of the others posts, does he have a web site that he sells from?

There is no problem asking questions (of course) but you might be able to quickly answer many of your questions by also doing the following: 1. Check out the Tech Tips link at the top of this page. A lot of excellent information is in that section. 2. Check out the Links page. You have to go one more level, but the Parts link on the left is quite handy as an extensive list of vendors (warning: some links are out of date). 3. Obtain a catalog from Jim Carter Antique Truck Parts , Classic Parts of America (Chevy Duty) ,and Chevs of the 40\'s . Their catalogs are excellent reference guides for what parts fit what years (warning: there are a few mistakes in each catalog). Some of these catalogs are free with a small order of parts. Here is the pertinent page in JC\'s catalog for the running board plugs. Brothers should know better than what they told you about the running boards.
