Teds54panel-- I have notice conversations here about using seats out of a LaSabre but they are not exactly buckets! Also most folks talk about the advantages of using the late model chevy trucks due to having the self contained seat/shoulder belts. My suggestion would be to just take a walk through a junk yard as long as you know how width you have to work with.

"original bucket seats" I wasn't aware they had them. Does anyone have a picture or know where to look for them? My panel came without any original seats. Thanks for the help.

1954 Chevrolet Truck Seats

RPO 263 - Auxiliary Seat was also available for Panel and Canopy models. I think it looks like the driver's seat but can be tilted forward to gain access to the tool compartment or to simply gain more floor load-space.

I have a pair of the original buckets which I've already promised to somebody if I ever get them removed.

These are the best two pictures I could of them.

Sorry I don't have better close at hand.

I have Honda Accord leather power buckets in my '55 1st Suburban. I like them real well in a driver, but they don't look very original.

when you sub drivers need extra room for hauling
large items in your burb, do you remove the seats
and how much trouble to reinstall? came across a
'51-'53 gmc, no engine/tranny,rear fenders or seats. sheet metal is in good condation all the glass is there except one piece.it even has the glass bottle for the windshield washer. now,if i

Read my signature and consider that I have three too new to count as Stovebolts. I don't need to pull seats out to haul anything...

No, just like OldSub, I use my pickup to haul large non-human loads. It is no more difficult to remove and reinstall the seats than it it is to do the same in a pre-Stow-N-Go Chrysler minivan. The seats unbolt and re-bolt very easily. Just as with a minivan, one person can do it but, if you have two-people, you do not bang up the seats and interior.

The better question is, "what did people do with their seats when they removed them"? Did they walk away or were they sold at yard sales?

LOL! If I knew the answer to that one I'd have a pile of them up for sale!

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions and pictures and offers to buy. I will be getting an original pair from TPYLE. As I mentioned before I thought these panel came with bench seats so I was completely delighted to learn of the buckets. I very much appreciate the knowledge and generosity of the people using this site.

I just scored a pair of the buckets shown above, for my '62 Suburban. The '62 came with a 60/40 split bench, and was more squared off...kind of like a school bus seat.
The seat backs, though, had the same style of re-inforcement rib on them, so they'll look like they belong in the interior, to all but the purists.

Boy I hope they're somewhat comfortable...

For the back seat, I've got an original full-width 3rd row seat that I'm running in the second row. It will be some effort to remove if I need to, but it's really just a few wing nuts and pull the seat out with the Boy's help.

Mine is my daily, my wife has a '01 Dodge Dakota, I've got a trailer made from a '63 Ford pick-up 8-foot bed, and I have a tandem axle open car trailer with a full deck. I don't really see removing the bench too often.
