I have a 62 1/2 ton chevy with a 235 six. The clutch slave cylinder is adjustable. I have tried bleeding the cylinder and adjustin it back and forth on the shaft but still have difficulty shifting the three on the tree trans without "scratching gears". Any advice? The trans is a three speed Muncie with overdrive. Had the same problem with the previous three speed trans so don't think it is the trans. Thanks for any help!

If you have adjusted the slave cylinder to the shortest travel and it still doesn't put the clutch into free wheeling position, the rod from the slave cylinder should have adjustment, if not then the rod may be worn on the ends and could be too short, or maybe you could check and see if the rod to the master cylinder has an adjustment (I don't think so) and the master cylinder piston isn't being pushed far enough.

Do you have the right size throwout bearing?
