What are some of the difficulites I will face with using this computer laden setup. Obviously I will have to figure out a way to get a return fuel line to the gas tank with the electronic pump. I'm sure there are many other unseen problems that I will run into.
Any input would be appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 738 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 738 | this is a cool preject and if i am not mistaken one of the 4x4 magazines did this not too long ago. they put a 6.0 litre v-8 in a k-5. it turned out really coo, and those engines are smooooooth, smooth revs, power and etc. go for it.

What's to stop you from just T-ing the return into the fuel line between the tank and pump?
I was thinking that you would need to verify that there is no sock inside the tank to blow off with back pressure, but the return pressure should never be more than the pump is drawing.
Another thought is to get your engine from a parts truck and get the tank, electronics, wiring harness and everything else you can think of.

It has the return line which I have capped for now. Get the tank straps from the donor vehicle and it is an easy fab job. You also need to thnk about where the filler neck will be located. Good Luck

That fuel grade hose you have to buy to join it is expensive compared to the cost of the steel tubing. And don't forget to throw some paint on it. Can't be having it rust out...
